MEA delivers Articulated PD sessions in each state throughout the year. Some of the current units being offered include the following and I have provided some details of each course below for interested members or those wishing to attend.
What are the units all about?
THHGLE12B – Develop & Manage Marketing Strategies
Learn how to plan, monitor and evaluate your marketing strategies. This session deals with the skills and knowledge required to develop and manage marketing plans and strategies within a meetings & events industry context.
THHGCS08B –Establish & Conduct Business Relationships
Learn how to establish and conduct successful business relationships. This unit deals with the skills and knowledge required to manage business relationships with customers or suppliers within a tourism or hospitality context. It focuses on the relationship building and negotiation skills required by specialist sales and marketing personnel in the business events industry.
THHGLE20B – Develop & Update the Legal Knowledge required for Business Compliance
Learn how to navigate your way through legal documentation. Industry professionals are commonly confronted with legal issues in contracts and insurance and are either unaware of the traps & pitfalls, or aren't sure how to tackle the problem. This unit will demystify these legal challenges and provide you with practical, useful tips for exchanging business with meeting organisers, PCOs, venues and other event suppliers.
In Articulated PD sessions participants will have the opportunity to be assessed on this subject and if deemed competent, to obtain a Statement of Attainment which will be credited towards the Diploma of Event Management.
The assessment component would be an additional $150.
