North Queensland Christmas Party
Wednesday 10 December 2008
The North Queensland Chapter of MEA will be holding a Christmas luncheon on Wednesday 10 December at Rydges Sabaya in Port Douglas, with charity and community awareness as the theme. Bravehearts Inc (North Queensland) which supports the North Queensland community by providing vital prevention and early intervention programs relating to the serious issue of child sexual assault, will be the charity of choice.
MEA members and also the wider business community will be asked to attend and assist in ensuring that the charity organisation has the necessary equipment to function on a daily basis. Bravehearts Cairns has subsequently put together a ‘Wish List’ which will act like a ‘registry’ to enable businesses and individuals to choose an item that they will be able to donate. A member may wish to choose something small or perhaps a larger item and then fundraise within their own business to reach their goal. This will be an ongoing project within the community to ensure that Bravehearts can continue their work in the region.
Invitations to the Christmas lunch will be forwarded shortly. Information on the Bravehearts Wish List concept will be sent out to North Queensland members in advance of the invitation, to allow sufficient time for them to plan their respective donations.
