Training Update
MEA has a stimulating and educational program to excite all meetings & event professionals across all industry sectors Australia-wide. These courses are advertised as “Articulated Training”.
Speakers from a wide range of industry segments will ensure that this year’s program will be informative and enlightening and some of these programs will articulate to the Certificate IV in Tourism or the Diploma in Event Management qualifications. Participants can also earn professional development points which go towards MEA’s Accreditation or Recognition programs for MEA members.
FOR TRAINING and PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TO BE USEFUL and SUCCESSFUL TO YOU OR YOUR COMPANY/ORGANISATION IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT IT IS:
- Relevant (and that means we will help you choose the right program for your needs)
- Industry specific (and that means that it will be written and delivered in a credible manner by professional industry experts who have worked in your industry)
- Highly professional (and that means it will be professional from the moment you enquire about your needs until the moment you walk away with a new body of knowledge)
- Affordable (and that means we will be realistic in our charge-out fees, with our members being provided with prices that ONLY MEA members will receive)
Stay tuned to enjoy the many changes and much growth in the area of training and professional development at MEA in 2008/2009.
It is our intention on a NATIONAL level that you, our members, will benefit from this.

Essentials Update
Over the past number of months MEA has approached several members from each state with experience and standing in the industry to help assist in the update of Organising Meetings - An Essential Learning Guide. Since June 2001 MEA has been offering this guide for those that wish to undertake a career in, or develop a greater understanding of, the meetings and events industry.
With the help of these members each chapter was reviewed against a set of questions outlined by MEA and the feedback received has been collated and sent to an instructional designer who will incorporate these changes into the guide. This process is proceeding and due for completion this year.
MEA would like to thank all those who were involved with the update.
