Apply for your professional finesse today! What’s on offer….?
Accreditation AMM / AIMM is an Industry Endorsement of Competency in Meetings Management and commitment to achieving high standards and ethical practice in the Meetings, Convention & Business Events Industry.
Associate-Fellow of MEA is dedication to the industry & its future, the Association & its members and continuing professional development
So what do you need?????
-
Employment for 3 years or more in the industry (as a meetings manager for Accreditation)
-
Referees, clients and suppliers that are willing to give you a confidential reference
-
Professional Development Points from the last 3 years; The Accreditation Program requires 60 PD points, the Recognition Program requires 100 PD points – these points must be obtained via a range of categories.
How do you obtain these Professional Development Points?
Both the Industry Accreditation and Recognition (Associate-Fellow) Programs require a specified number of Professional Development (PD) points before an application can be accepted.
MEA offers many ways in which to accumulate the PD points required to complete an application for either Program.
Attendance at the National Conference could potentially earn you 30 points. Attendance at a stand-alone PD session could earn 2 or 3 points per hour depending on the format of that session. The Executive Certificate (Intensive Training Residential Program) earns a whopping 60 points – even MEA site inspections can earn valuable PD points!
Non-MEA activities also earn valuable PD points. Many industry professionals are not aware that their Bachelor Degree, TAFE or College Certificates and Diplomas earn them valuable PD points. Developing industry curriculum’s, delivering sessions, participation on industry committees or boards, involvement in reading and study programs, as well as attendance at non-MEA conferences (if the sessions relate to industry issues) also earn valuable PD points.
So why not apply to one of the programs today. For a complete list of MEA and non-MEA activities that accumulate points and how to apply to become accredited or recognised, simply go to the MEA website at www.meetingsevents.com.au/accreditation.
