Review of Past MEA Events
New South Wales - Jazzy Christmas
The MEA NSW 2007 ‘JAZZ ON THE HARBOUR’ XMAS PARTY at Opera Point Marquee, Sydney Opera House on 6 December was a fabulous event attended by 400 guests who enjoyed the superb atmosphere created by Decorative Events; dined on innovative, delicious and generous canapes provided by Opera Point Events; danced until close to the Dan Barnett Band courtesy of NHM Entertainment; freshened up in powder rooms primped by Oh de Toilette; enjoyed floral creations by Waterhouse Floral Design; partied on at the Opera Bar and enjoyed the email teasers in the lead up to the event designed by A Little Creative. Thanks to all our sponsors for making this THE industry event of the year.
Northern Territory - Christmas at Monsoons in Darwin
MEA NT celebrated the end of the year with a Christmas Party at Monsoons in Darwin. The event also included guest speaker Mark Stoyles from the Office of Indigenous Policy Coordination who spoke on the new legislation regarding the serving and supply of alcohol in the Northern Territory.
Queensland - Celebrated a “Rock’n’Roll” Christmas
MEA Qld celebrated Christmas with a “Rock’n’Roll” ClubMEA Christmas Lunch at Conrad Jupiters. The MEA Qld Committee designed the table centerpieces for the event – the brief…..”create a centerpiece using a guitar”. The guests, with the help of Elvis Presley, voted Clare Lee’s entry the winner. For her efforts, Clare received a beautiful gift parcel from Palazzo Versace.

South Australia - Christmas in Adelaide
South Australian members celebrated Christmas and the Festive Season in the garden of the historic heritage listed Edinburgh Hotel at Mitcham. Father Christmas arrived to spread good cheer and hand out presents from the MEA Mega Santa Sack filled with wacky and wonderful gifts for members. To the amazement of the crowd Father Christmas was very up to date with everyone’s name, company name or employer and even offered a few very cheeky words of advice!! Guests brought non perishable food items and several large boxes were packed and taken to Mission SA a local charity for distribution to families throughout Adelaide.
