MEA would like to congratulate the following, newly recognised Associate-Fellows of MEA.
Glen Lehman, Managing Director of Lehman and Associates Pty Ltd, has a background of over three decades in the theatre and entertainment industries. He is one of only four Australians qualified as a Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP). The George Washington University and the International Special Events Society bestows this title.
Before starting his own company in 1981 (Lehman & Associates), he worked for both Opera Australia and The Australian Ballet, developing their successful promotional and marketing campaigns. Over this time Glen has worked with many of Australia’s leading companies and organisations helping them to plan and organise positive motivational outcomes for their social function, conferences, launches & training events. Lehman’s diverse briefs are fulfilled by his unique ability to draw on a wide variety of professional skills available either in-house or from a network of highly qualified professionals retained as consultants.
Glen is also a foundation member of the Australian Chapter of the International Special Events Society and was President from 1995 to 1997 and is currently a member of the International Relations Committee.
Julie O'Donovan has over 26 years in the conference events and exhibition industry and extensive experience in the not for profit sector. During her long tenure with the Electrical & Communications Association Julia managed 25 Annual State Conferences, hosted nationally and internationally, exhibitions, apprentice and excellence awards, gala balls, golf days, regional meetings, training forums and international study tours.
Appointed to Moreton Hire's senior management team as Commercial Manager, Major Projects Team in April this year, Julie will work to continue to build the expertise of the Major Projects Team and ensure Moreton Hire's unrivalled dedication to its corporate client base.
Alison Lake (nee Pine), has worked for Airtrain for the past three years as Sales Manager – Queensland (Brisbane). In addition to her sales role, Alison also assists with marketing and media activities for Airtrain. Prior to joining Airtrain, Alison was employed in a sales role with Murrays Coaches, and prior to this with Royal Pines Resort.
In her current role, Alison works with professional conference organisers (PCO), corporate clients and a number of leading tourism operators. Alison is responsible for achieving annual sales targets and establishing and maintaining long term sustainable business relationships with key customers.
Alison is delighted to see the growth in Airtrain over the last few years, and is proud to have achieved her AFMEA status.
Associate-Fellow recognition, whilst not formal accreditation, indicates the member has proven dedication to the Industry and its Association and to ensuring their skills and industry knowledge remain current through on-going professional development.
