MEA would like to congratulate the following, newly recognised Associate-Fellow of MEA.
Angela Heyward has been with Conrad Jupiters for the past 6 years. Working firstly as a food and beverage attendant in the event services department, Angela has through the years progressed to Event Services Manager. Angela is responsible for the day to day operation of the Pavilion Convention Centre, along with managing a team of 80 food and beverage attendants, Angela successfully executes over 1000 events per year. Angela is also responsible for achieving food and beverage targets, recruiting and training team members, and making the customer a main focal point. As part of Angela's roles, she coordinates all TABCORP internal events always with the aim of meeting customer and business objectives. Angela was also awarded "Operations Person of the Year" at the Queensland 2006 Meetings and Events Industry Awards.
Scott Lovett has worked with Alice Springs Convention Centre as General Manager for the past two years. Scott is responsible for the business development, event management and operations teams at the Centre. Scott is the MEA NT Branch Chair and also is Chair of the organising committee for the MEA 2008 conference. Prior to joining the Alice Springs Convention Centre, Scott held numerous positions in the business events and hospitality industry in Adelaide and Melbourne. Scott sits on the Central Australian Tourism Industry Association Board and chairs their marketing committee as well as being a member of the Tourism NT Forecasting Panel. Scott is a graduate of the Regency Hotel School in Adelaide and the University of South Australia.
Melanie Williamson (nee Riley) for the past two and a half years, has been with Conrad Jupiters and began her career with the hotel in the position of Sales Assistant for Conventions and Incentives and was then promoted to the position of Sales Executive. In the position of Sales Executive, Melanie is responsible for achieving annual sales targets, maintaining relationships with existing clients and building new relationships with potential clients. Melanie's market also covers a wide spectrum of clients ranging from small conferences, meetings, special events, weddings, social groups, to the corporate market. To ensure the effective management of her Sales team, Melanie motivates her staff which work tirelessly to achieve targets, sell Conrad Jupiters facilities and services and maximize client satisfaction and profitable outcomes. Prior to working at Conrad Jupiters, Melanie worked for the Rendezvous Hotel, Melbourne (formally the Duxton Hotel) in the Banquet Sales Department.
