In House Meeting Planners High Tea Event
Wednesday 2 July 2008
During RSVP, MEA NSW held a ‘High Tea’ for In House Meeting Planners featuring a vibrant presentation by Elena Reed on Optimising Brand You – Make your Look your Hook. Her fresh and dynamic approach had our meeting planners enthused to gather as many style and colouring tips as they could. Thanks to Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre who produced a month-watering array of sweet and savoury canapés that guests enjoyed while catching up during the high tea. MEA NSW also thanks AV1 for supplying audiovisual services for this event.

ClubMEA Annual Trivia Night @ Red Scooter
Wednesday 25 June 2008
On Wednesday 25 June members experienced another fantastic evening of MEA networking in Melbourne. Our annual trivia night was once again held at Red Scooter – the ideal venue for this event. Victorian members continue to embrace this annual event with tickets being snapped up very quickly resulting in another sell out.
You could feel the anticipation and excitement building in the room, packed with teams coming together to seek trivia glory. Wacky Entertainment did a brilliant job keeping the evening upbeat and loads of fun. Quiz rounds ranged from sing-a-longs, to physical challenges, group dancing and good old fashioned trivia. Congratulations to the winning team made up of representatives from PricewaterhouseCoopers, Durham Audio Visual Hire and Haycom.
Special thanks to our sponsors Red Scooter, Audio Visual Dynamics, Wacky Entertainment, Moreton Hire, Sofitel Melbourne and Flemington – The Event Centre.

Professional Development: Beyond the BASICS of Selling & Managing for Sales Success
Thursday 26 June 2008
MEA Victoria invited David Penglase, one of Australia’s leading experts on the ethics of selling and one of this country’s most successful professional speakers to present two professional development sessions on sales training to members. The two interactive, entertaining and practical workshops covered "How to find clients, win clients, keep clients, manage yourself better and solve problems creatively" in the morning, then "How to improve sales meetings, coach sales people and lead a sales team to success" in the afternoon. Members had the option to attend either the morning or afternoon session or both as many members chose to do.
Special thanks to David Penglase and to our 2008 Victorian partners in excellence, Audio Visual Dynamics and Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

ClubMEA @ Botanical
Wednesday 23 July 2008
Wow, what a terrific bar and function space for our most recent ClubMEA function. An institution in Melbourne the Botanical Main Bar, is centred by a huge white marble bar with feature lighting and is the place to be seen. On 23 July around 90 MEA members ventured out for a night of cocktails and bubbles in the famous Botanical Main Bar!
Guests enjoyed the warmth and atmosphere of the open fire while being served with gourmet food, wine and cocktails - an experience they were glad they didn’t miss.
Special thanks to The Botanical and Audio Visual Dynamics for sponsoring this wonderful evening.

ClubMEA WA ‘What’s Happening in your City?’
Thursday 3 July 2008
The first week of the new financial year saw MEA WA kick start our social calendar with a very impressive ClubMEA entitled ‘What’s Happening in your City?’ with keynote speaker The Honourable Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi. With a record attendance of more than 100 event industry guests, this networking opportunity was also a chance to showcase two stunning Perth venues, being the CBD Terrace at Rydges Perth, followed by the restored Perth Town Hall. Thanks to the generous support of City of Perth, our guests were provided with an informative overview from our Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi, who shared the many exciting initiatives being planned for the City of Perth. Guests were also treated to magnificent lighting and sound thanks to the AVAlliance team, delicious canapés care of Rydges Perth, then Beaumonde Catering at Perth Town Hall, and even dessert thanks to the Chocolate Fountain supplied by Chocolate Attraction. From the images below, our guests were even treated like stars when they encountered a mob of waiting ‘paparazzi’ thanks to Australian Convention Photography. A fantastic networking event for WA members, which will be followed up with our next ClubMEA scheduled for September 2008.
