Staffing at MEA
I am pleased to advise members of some positive staffing changes within MEA as follows:
Gaille Barr – National Training & Accreditation Manager
Gaille commenced at Meetings & Events Australia in early July 2008 having left a HR consultancy role with a government department. She holds a degree in Adult Education from the University of Technology Sydney and brings a broad experience in training and education. Gaille is excited about the challenges her MEA National Training role will bring and her mission is to improve lives by empowering people with skills for success within the meeting and events industry.
Kate Duldig – Branch Development Officer SA & Coordinator National Strategic Alliances
Kate was employed by MEA to assist manage the MEA National Conference in Alice Springs, to work directly with the CEO on a number of strategic initiatives for the association and has recently been appointed the new Branch Development Officer for South Australia & Coordinator National Strategic Alliances. Kate is well versed in MEA operations and has the background and experience to undertake these highly important roles within the association.
Larissa Centorino – Receptionist & Administration Assistant
Larissa holds a Diploma in Hospitality Management and a Diploma in Event Management, both from Ryde TAFE. As the first point of contact for our members Larissa holds an integral role, and no doubt many of you will speak with her in the near future.

Farewell to Jennifer Milward – Branch Development Manager Qld & NT
After almost 9 years of loyal tenure to MEA we wish Jennifer all the very best as she leaves MEA to enjoy a sabbatical “chasing the Whales”. We thank Jennifer for her work with MEA QLD, her support of MEA National and over the past 2 year her work with MEA NT.

Wise Counsel for the MEA National Conference 09
A special thank you to Alec Gilbert, Chief Executive, Adelaide Convention Centre and Meri Took, Director, Staging Rentals & Construction Services, for agreeing to act as “Wise Counsel” for our 09 Conference. Both Alec and Meri’s expertise will be very useful in the planning and implementation stages of the Conference.
