We are very pleased to announce that Minister Ferguson MP, Minister for Resources, Energy and Tourism will be opening our Conference in Alice Springs on 10 May. The Minister’s involvement highlights the importance of the Meetings and Events Industry and its role in Business Travel and Tourism.
The Conference program this year is diverse and will offer something of interest to every delegate. This year’s MEA Conference will feature an international speaker – Mr Michael Luehrs from MCI Group in Stockholm (pictured) who will present in the first plenary session on 11 May. Michael’s presentation is titled “A Postcard from 2020: How the Meetings Industry Helped Craft the Most Important Environmental Solutions of Our Time”. Michael is MCI’s Sustainability Services Manager. With hands on experience implementing an innovative and award winning sustainability plan for the Hilton group, Michael has developed strong experience in creating cultures that embrace sustainable business practices. Michael is now tasked with leading MCIs sustainability consulting team. Michael’s involvement in the 21st MEA National Conference is sponsored by the Melbourne Convention + Visitors Bureau. We would like to thank MCVB for their support of the Conference.
The Conference will also address other current industry issues such as Skills Shortage; Future of Convention Travel; Procurement and much more.
