From the CEO
MEA Conference 2007 Evaluations
Thankyou to each of you, who took the time and effort to provide constructive feedback of the MEA 2007 Conference in Hobart. I have received some very valuable information, much of which can be worked upon for Alice Springs 2008. It was very pleasing to receive well over 100 named evaluations from you, the Industry experts, offering advice on how we can further enhance your own conference experience.
This year, the Conference Education program received the highest ever evaluations, with delegates enjoying the opportunity to “think outside the square” and hear and learn from many experts in their chosen field.
Each evaluation received was placed in a draw, for the opportunity to win a free registration only to MEA in Alice Springs in 2008. We are pleased to announce that Lisa Dunn of Tarraleah will be offered first opportunity to accept this prize.
A full statistical analysis of the Conference Evaluations will be placed on the MEA website in the very near future.
Category Forums at MEA 2007
Minutes of the Category Forums are currently being validated by the Chair of the session and will be placed in the members section of the MEA website on receipt at the MEA Office. If you would like to discuss your Category Forum, or action that should occur from that forum, please make contact in the first instance with Ruth Lilian, the MEA representative for Category Forums on the National Council. Ruth can be contacted via the MEA National Office.
MEA Blog, Web Casts and Pod Casts
These new member benefits will be up and running very soon. Our website is currently being revised to ensure that we can cater for these latest initiatives.
Accredited and Recognised Members
At MEA we are very proud of our Accredited and Recognised members, and are continually reviewing how we can best ensure that these designations are promoted not only throughout the industry, but outside the Industry.
I take this opportunity to remind members that Accreditation and Recognition are two entirely different designations, and that the correct use of terminology will in fact ensure that there is little misunderstanding in exactly what each well earned achievement means.
Associate-Fellow of MEA – Are Recognised Members
Dedication to the industry & its future, the Association & its members and continuing professional development
For more information on Industry Recognition please visit the MEA website.
Industry Accreditation Program – Are Accredited Members
Industry endorsement of competency in Meetings Management and commitment to achieving high standards and ethical practice in the Meetings, Convention and Business Events Industry.
For more information on MEA’s high standard Accreditation programs please visit the MEA website.
Who’s Who
MEA’s member benefit, the new look “full colour Who’s Who”, is well and truly out in the market. At MEA we source every opportunity to ensure that this publication reaches the desks, and becomes the “bible” for those meeting and event decision makers. We are continually reviewing our databases to ensure further reach, as this will ultimately benefit you.
Should individual members require a second copy of Who’s Who, these are available for a nominal cost from the MEA National Office.
MEA Code of Ethics
At MEA we are very proud of our Industry Code of Ethics, and also of the fact that it is on the very rare occasion that we are in a position that we must refer a member to it.
The Code of Ethics is located on the MEA website, should members wish to visit for their own personal interest.
